I would assume thousands of other VB6 apps out there in the world using MSCOMCT.OCX would not run on Windows 10 (currently 2 laptops affected). I am desperate for help to solve this problem. I have compared the file version from a known good system and the version matches () so I don't think it is a problem with the OCX file. Make sure yo uare using the version of the control that was provided with your application. your version of MSCOMCTL.OCX may be outdated. It installs the new version of MSCOMCTL.OCX. Failed to load control 'ImageList' from MSCOMCTL.OCX. The module 'mscomctl.ocx' was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80004005 Examination showed it happens when the progress bar control which resides in Mscomctl.ocx is addressed.
I still get a: The module 'MSCOMCTL. However, when I try the solution, which is to execute a command using regsvr32 in the command prompt (using admin privileges) I get the following error message: okay, so I've finally realized that the MSCOMCTL.OCX needs to be placed in the windows/syswow64 folder (stupid me).
